2009 Work Session M1/M2

August 18, 2009. The four box cars have been sitting with the same sides facing south for decades, and the doors on the south sides were in terrible shape. MHC will be using the box cars for storage, and only needs access from one side. Rather than extensively rebuild the south doors, the north doors were moved to the south sides and the south doors discarded. This photo shows the opening on the north side of MS 505 framed in and new siding being installed. All the siding had been given a coat of primer before being installed. Instead of box car red, some of the primer turned out to be a sort of plum color. Photo by Roger Breeding.
